I Love this Little Guy!

U is for Unicorn plate

This adorable baby unicorn was found in the margin of a medieval manuscript, climbing up a vine entwined around an illuminated letter. Of course, being a MEDIEVAL little unicorn his original expression was pretty sorrowful. Well, this guy was just too cute to be sad, so I did some digital magic to give him a cute smile… and here he is!

The perfect gift for the unicorn lover young or old, this plate would also make a magical baby shower gift.  U is for Unicorn is the newest listing in my Etsy Shop.

But I couldn’t resist making more items featuring this adorable creature.

In addition to these light switch plates, I created some really cool items at my Zazzle Shop:  Brooklyn: Edge of the Sea , including this great wall clock:

You could say I got carried away.. but I think not. This baby unicorn is just too cute for words!

Dragons over Bohemia

I  think the backstories of some of my finished pieces are interesting in themselves, so I decided to share them on my studio blog.

Dragons Over Bohemia Pendant Necklace.

Perfect for Halloween, or any time you’re feeling a tad bit ghoulish, this necklace features artwork from the oddly eerie Book of Miracles, published in Augsburg in 1552, and just recently rediscovered.

The Book of Miracles is composed of 169 large watercolor and gouache illustrations chronicalling miraculous, bizarre, and legendary occurrences from biblical times to the present times of the author.

Here, featured on this pendant, is the plate Dragons Over Bohemia. According to the accompanying text, Dragons, both large and small were observed flying, en masse over Bohemia in 1533. This phenomenon is reported to have lasted several days.
